Fog Screen September 30, 2005

Filed under: Computers — techiedivas @ 12:26 pm

Fogscreen003 FogScreen is break through technology that allows projection of high quality images in the air. It is currently the only walk-through projection screen. You can literally use the air as your user interface by touching only the air with your bare hands. The screen is created by using a suspended fog generating device with no frame around, and works with video projectors. The fog they use is dry, so it doesn’t make you wet even if you stay under the FogScreen device for a long time.  The fog is made of ordinary water with no chemicals whatsoever. With two projectors, you can project different images on both sides of the screen. Read More.

Juicy Couture iPod Shuffle Necklace September 30, 2005

Nm0jpb_mp Juicy Couture has created some fun accessories for the iPod. This one is actually really "charming" with it’s gold plated cherry trinkets hanging off the chain (which are sold separately). There was that idea of the iPod Jewelry, remember that? I prefer the simple things, so this one would be my MP3 necklace of choice. I am wondering if they will make other charms to hang off this necklace. The chain is 25" long, and the cherry charm has cubic zirconia and glass detail. Both are 14K gold-plated.  Price: $65 (chain)  $45 (cherry) Available Here.

Tonight I was at the Engadget’s Reader Meetup, which by the way was a blast. I will be posting up some pictures I took, (so see I wasn’t slacking off).  Many thanks to Peter, Ryan and the Engadget crew for bringing this meeting to the Bay Area. We hope you do it more often (like an All-Day Meeting). I got to play a bit with some of the cool gadgets they had like the new OQO Model +1, which was excellent. If you left early, you missed out on some great giveaways. Good Times Engadget, thank you for bringing this event to the peeps in S.F.

Filed under: Beauty — techiedivas @ 11:35 pm

Img10131130947_1  For some, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. For others, beauty starts with a taller nose. Here is another contraption to use right before you go to bed to make your nose taller by lifting the nose cartilage.   You only sacrifice 10 minutes a day to reshape you nose, instead of spending thousands of dollars in rhinoplasty.  The gadget is called "hanataka kyosei HICO" which means nose-tall correction. The site doesn’t mention the length of treatment or effectiveness of wearing this item.

First Mobile Film Festival in Asia September 27, 2005

Filed under: Cell Phones — techiedivas @ 2:01 am

Nokia and Chunghwa Telecom are working together to organize the first Mobile Film Festival in Asia Pacific from September 27th to November 9th. During the festival, Taiwan’s first-ever contest for creative self-directed mobisodes will be held. Mobisodes are brief videos specifically designed to be watched on your mobile phone.  The concept of the mobisodes is based on how a phone is interpreted by the individual directors, inspiring new thinking and novelty. Some directors suggest short mobile films will become the trend, which will attract more creative talents to mobile cinematography. Nokia is promoting the "Life Goes Mobile" concept. Press Release.
