WHAT:

To kick off the first sales of the highly anticipated PSP in the United States, Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (SCEA) will host a midnight opening of the PlayStation(R) Store at the Metreon in San Francisco. The midnight opening will be one of the first chances for consumers on the west coast to get their hands on the most desired product this year. A record number of consumers are expected to come out on March 24 to be the first to purchase PSP — the most talked about product this year and the first truly integrated portable entertainment device that features games, movies, music, photos and wireless connectivity all in one sleek package.

SCEA Executive Vice President Jack Tretton will be on-hand to officially open the doors to the PlayStation Store at midnight. Prior to doors opening at midnight, consumers will be treated to sneak peeks of new games , giveaways, surprise appearances and more.
