Filed under: Concepts — techiedivas @ 3:41 am

AntisocialchairDo you feel the need to shut out the rest of the world, and create your own bubble? Well, Stefan Borselius "Peekabo" isolation chair will help you enjoy total seclusion while listening to you Mp3 player, writing text messages or even playing Grand Theft Auto San Andreas on your PSP. This modern day chair is made of chrome-plated steel, molded felt and textile. A cover or visor can be added in the molded felt with a plexi glass front. Because nerds can never be too anti-social. iPod wristwatch July 17, 2006

What if you could wear your iPod as a watch? This is just a concept idea by Peter Burns, but it seems like it would really catch on. The iWatch will be a watch and an iPod combined. Some features that maybe included are 10GB of storage and you would listen to your music through a Bluetooth headset. This is just a concept, but I like it and I hope that it will hit the market eventually.

Fighting with your blanket July 14, 2006

Filed under: Concepts — techiedivas @ 6:04 am

Blank_vorschauHow annoying would it be to have a blanket that automatically uncovers you when it’s time to wake up?  Not exactly sure how this works, but the post over at Trendhunter suggest the following: "If you switch off your snooze button, your blanket will be torn down in the direction of your feet – the more you snooze the lower it goes."

This blanket would not work for me.

Right to Bear Arms

Gun
I love guns as much as the next gal (or guy), but I think this lighted gun won’t be much fun unless you have a cat or are afraid of the dark. The gun is an autodefensive psychologic object for those afraid of dark, creepy nights. It gives the user a false sense of security, especially when the gun goes off and instead of shooting bullets, it shoots off a masculine message.

Hold Them Close, Closer

Couch Couples hitting the blues need to sit closer together to get a pink warm fuzzy pattern, that’s if they have this telling couch. The cool hunter scoped out this couch embedded with light emitting technology and other sensitive materials that illuminates in relation to weight and proximity of couch guests. Sit far apart and the couch gets the blues, or sit close together and watch how pink and blue make purple. A clever designer in the UK is responsible for this couple couch counselling.

Nokia’s Future at Hand July 13, 2006

Icon_todoWhile some of us are still awaiting the next "it" gadget, designers like Manuel Lopez Revol from Argentina are busy designing phone accessories we couldn’t even dream up. Project Icon includes a pair of rings and a bracelet that displays incoming SMS messages on a duo-chromatic OLED. The bracelet also functions as a watch and displays dynamic graphics. The thumb rings light up when they detect an incoming call or message, and connect via Bluetooth to a Nokia 7280 phone. The idea is that you get a visual of incoming calls without digging through your purse when the phone rings. You can view the concept designs over at Celularis. Via Gizmodo

American Expree butterfly credit card June 27, 2006

Introducing the American Express Butterfly!!  The card is a folding credit card in so a small little case that is avaliable for all American Express Gold Card members with no additional fees!!

However where are you going to put this in your wallet? I’m sure the folding case is thicker than a regular credit card.  The product would be awesome if you carry to wallet or no purse, and that is the marketing niche that American Express is trying to use.

Know Them By Their Handshake June 20, 2006

Iband_1

Here’s an interesting concept by MIT students. The iBand wearable bracelet seen here allows you to exchange contact information with a simple handshake. Can’t remember the name of that hunky guy last week? No problem, just shake his hand and once the LED blinky light goes on, you know you have everything you need to know about him. The purpose of the iBand is to store and exchange information with strangers that you meet (who also wear the bracelet) so you can later evaluate the collected date via a kiosk that will display a list of contacts you’ve made thought the day. Being that we don’t have very good memories, this bracelet helps the wearer remember information about the other users. It would be great at parties, clubbing, or other social settings.  Male and females can personalize their bracelet. I think it would be a great idea, if only the bracelet looked less like something one of the Metallica guys would wear.

Lazy Tire Gauge June 12, 2006

Filed under: Concepts — techiedivas @ 4:16 pm

I get so tired of messing with the cheap tire pressure gauges. They are really inaccurate, and are a pain to keep with you. What if there was a way to always be able to check your tire pressure and not have to keep a gauge on your person? Yanko Designs has developed a digital tire gauge that replaces your tire cap. This gauge has a digital display and you can see the current tire pressure with the push of a button. This battery operated device is perfect for making sure your tire pressure is even, and makes it a lot easier than having to take the cap off every time.
