Electroscoot October 18, 2006

Electroscoot
is for all your environmentalists, or the people who just don’t want to pay for the always increasing gas prices here in the US. This light weight lithium ion battery powered scooter can range 12 miles to 30miles (20km-50km) with only costing around 50 cents per 30 miles (50km). The restricted max speed for this is around 18mph (20kmh), so it is classified as a bike not a scooter. So, no helmet is needed either, but here at Techiediva we think ‘better save than sorry’, so use the helmet. The battery can be easily removed and recharged in 6 hours. Plus, you don’t have to pay for parking!!  However, you will have to pay 1,500 pounds if you want it. Nick

uWink’s High-Tech Eatery

Filed under: Miscellaneous — techiedivas @ 1:58 am

Uwink_1 Maybe you remember my post about a touchscreen table-top computer system installed throughout a campus cafe in Europe. The system allows patrons to place orders, play games, and interact with other users from a computer on their table. If you’re ever in the Los Angeles area, you might want to stop at uWink’s first restaurant in Woodland Hills, CA. Guys from the Feed were there to take on-the-scene pictures of this high-tech haven where anyone can place orders via a touch-screen system, as well as play short games against other tables. I love the idea, and can’t wait for more restaurants to adopt this system. You can visit uWink at 6100 Topanga Canyon Blvd, Woodland Hills, California.

Filed under: Miscellaneous — techiedivas @ 1:19 am

Tattooapp_1 Sure we love our Macs and iPods, but just how far are you willing to go to let the world know? The Apple collection has a fun gallery of Mac Addicts showing us their Apple logo tats, some of them in places we’d rather never see again. What do you think? Is this trend waiting to happen, or the saddest public display of affection?

Red Lipstick Light October 16, 2006

Filed under: Miscellaneous — techiedivas @ 4:16 am

K6418bThis is one of those gimmicky gadgets that will either come in real handy or frustrate you everytime you need to apply lipstick. The lipstick microlight is a mini-flashlight that will light up any dark space like the bottom of your handbag, when reading a book on an airplane, or at night when you’re afraid to go to sleep without a night light. In the morning, I always have such a hard time getting up to my alarm clock. The digital beeping is annoying at best. Here is a way to make sure you hear your alarm in the morning. Using a fire alarm bell, this loud alarm clock will surely get your attention in the morning. This alarm clock features a LCD screen to tell time and set the alarm, a snooze feature and a large red bell to wake you up in the morning. This is available from Spilsbury for $15.  [OhGizmo]

Fish Loft October 11, 2006

Filed under: Miscellaneous — techiedivas @ 10:21 am

Do you ever get the feeling that your fish are getting bored with the scenery in there little pond? What if you could give them a better view of the world above the water? The Fish Loft is one way to accomplish such a goal. The Fish Loft is a clear plastic tube that mounts in your pond. You fill it with water by sucking out all the air and then the fish will have an extra area to swim in and explore. I am not really sure that this is a commercially available product, but it does seem to be simple enough to make on your own. The website shows how it works, so ideally, all you need is a clear tube and a way to pump the air out of the tube. I think this is a great DIY project.&nbsp&nbsp[OhGizmo]

This is a Trip!

Shorties like me, can now use a Trip Clip to keep your jeans from ever sweeping the floor. Don’t you just hate the new Gap jeans that are  now too long for petites? Well , I used to wear Gap jeans until they made all their jeans longer than necessary. The Trip Clip is one of those ideas that was just waiting to happen. It attaches to your trousers with an elastic cord around the ankle to keep your jeans from  ever hitting the floor. Nine bucks will get you a trip clip, looking like a total dork, priceless. Nokia Mooncake Cellular Phone that You Take Eat
Hand Cell Phone found some delightful pictures of a delicious Nokia Mooncake that is making me hungry. Look at all that chocolate, that’s enough to put me in a diabetic coma for a month just by looking at it. Other than the lovely pics, not much is known about the mystical origin of the Nokia Mooncake that may or may not exist in China. I want some!

The Beverage Buddy October 6, 2006

Filed under: Miscellaneous — techiedivas @ 3:34 pm

Some people are so lazy, and I guess I fall into that category because I think this is a great idea. Spilsbury brings to us the Beverage Buddy. Instead of walking all the way across a room to get a beverage, you can send this instead. The Beverage Buddy is a RC car that has two holders for cans or small cups. Of course it does help to have someone near the drinks to load it up, but that is a minor detail. Maybe you can get one of your less lazy friends to give you a hand.
