Gadgets the ‘Lost’ Crew Needs! October 6, 2006

Lostgear I have a love-hate relationship with Lost. I love the show, hate the commercials. Why couldn’t it be a 2-hour show. Hell they should just replace Days of Our Lives with Lost. Jen over at Gearlog/PCMag put together a fabulous list of gear she thought each castaway should have on the island. I think they all need bulletproof vests if they want to survive another season. Jeeesh! Somebody dies at the end of each season, so let’s hope they get some sort of bullet-protection.

Rubbery Tunes

MusicalcondomAre we so obsessed with music that we must now have it integrated into condoms? Ubergizmo spotted the Zaporozhye condom created by the Ukranians who may need a few sound effects under the sheets. The base of the condom contains miniature speakers that play music louder and faster as the couple reaches the final climax. I want to know what’s on the playlist. Metallica? Stevie Vai? Ah, I got it, it must play some Stairway to Heaven!

These new "Schtickers" will brighten up your old laptop or add personal style to your new laptop in just a few seconds.  These laptop decals come in a variety of styles and colors to best reflect your taste.

Visit the main Schtickers site and view anything from animal prints to fine art designs.  Simply choose the style you want and remember, any Schticker that you order is reusable and removable so it does not matter where you ‘schtick’ it.

Another style design is a custom option.  Use any image or design you want and customize your laptop the way you want.  Called "LapSchticks", these designs seem neverending and they give lots of different options with colors, too.

They also have PodSchtickers available for your iPod!

Can You Really Match My Mood? September 23, 2006

Filed under: Miscellaneous — techiedivas @ 9:35 pm

These Mood Beams creatures really make me smile.  I have no idea why they are so cute but I admit that I will probably talk someone into buying me one as a gift.  I know, the target market is children but they are adorable!

Mood Beams react to simple tapping on their heads to change modes or moods.  They go from strobing different colors, a cute little heart light, rainbow mode and many other combinations.

I think this would make a great friend for a child afraid of the dark (or an adult!) and I’m looking into these as unique gifts for neices and nephews this year.

Sushi Dessert?

Filed under: Miscellaneous — techiedivas @ 4:04 pm

Do you like sushi?  Do you enjoy chocolate?  Well, imagine chocolate flavors and edible displays of sushi as an after sushi dessert.  I know, it sounds just plain weird.  It’s chocolate that is molded to look JUST LIKE sushi but taste JUST LIKE chocolate.

Koo-ki Sushi is detailed with each color and texture to match the specific sushi dish.  Even eat the delicate gold patterns and edible decorative greenery that goes with it.  That’s right!  Perfect gift for someone that adores sushi and wouldn’t mind eating it with a different flavor.

Great treats with a different look.  Would be incredible as party desserts.  Visit the main site for more details and all the designs and packaging.  It all looks so tasty!

USB Rechargeable Batteries September 21, 2006

Now that’s what I call convenient!  I use rechargeable batteries every single day in my digital camera and other devices.  I could not do with buying batteries every single day or so, and the rechargeables have been wonderful.

Now, they have come out with a USBCell that recharges the ‘batteries’ via the USB on any computer.  Just plug the battery/cell in and charge it up, rendering it useful when on the go, on vacation or just plain "busy".

More compact than carrying around a battery charger with extra batteries, the USBCell will give you more room in your cases.  Cameras, MP3 players, portable devices, anything that needs juice can use the USBCells.

Moxia Energy has certainly come up with a great idea here.  Simple, reusable energy is the tagline for the site.  I’m definitely purchasing a pair or two for my home.  Sold for £12.99 I think they are well-priced for most any user.

Only available in the UK right now, they do offer a mailout notification when they become available in the US.  It makes me want to find my favorite UK friend and see how we can work out some shipping!

What if there was a way to keep a piece of you, your child or even your pet around forever? Russian company New Age Diamonds specializes in the creation of lab-grown diamonds and can actually create a diamond using hair. Diamonds are made from carbon and since all living things are made of carbon, it stands to reason that a diamond can be made using a person’s hair or other source of carbon. New Age Diamonds have recently entered the Japanese market with The Heart-In Baby Diamond which are diamonds grown from your babies hair. With prices ranging from about $3500 for a 0.2 carat canary yellow diamond to $17,000 for a 0.8 carat chameleon red diamond, this is a very pricey gift or keepsake that will make sure a piece of you will live on forever. We all know that diamonds are forever.

Saving information in this day and age is important.  There have been many modifications to jumpdrives and USB flash drives and the more compact the better.  The USB Flashband is quite similar to the previously released Imation version.

Duck Design offers 128MB – 2GB ranges for this item and you can choose a lanyard style necklace or a bracelet.  Recommended for promotional ideas, gift bags or attach to a child’s wrist with emergency information attached.

The bracelet features a soft PVC molding, protecting the drive from accidental damage or data loss and still stay comfortable for wrist wearing.  The lanyard has a hangtag, comes in velvet pouch and can be customized with a company logo or message.

Five different colors and 6 different storage sizes, varying with each model, gives the impression that you have many choices to make when purchasing this gadget.  But, who doesn’t want some extra storage they can hang around their neck or wear on their wrist?
